Climate Policy
At Fieldwork, we recognise the need to reduce our environmental impact and to make responsible choices about how we work, travel and operate as a business.
As a consultancy, our environmental footprint is relatively small, but that doesn’t mean it should be ignored. We aim to understand where our impact comes from, reduce it where we can and make sustainability part of the everyday decisions we make.
Our environmental impact
Our main environmental impacts are associated with:
Energy used while working from home and shared workspaces
Digital infrastructure, cloud services and data storage
Business travel and transport
The goods and services we buy
The suppliers and partners we choose to work with
How we work
We aim to reduce unnecessary consumption and emissions across our day-to-day operations.
We use digital meetings where they make sense, helping to reduce unnecessary business travel. Where travel is required, we consider lower-impact options wherever practical.
We work flexibly rather than maintaining a permanent office, reducing the energy and resources associated with dedicated office space.
We also aim to minimise unnecessary digital storage and use digital services and suppliers with strong environmental credentials where suitable alternatives are available.
Working with others
Our environmental impact extends beyond our own day-to-day activity.
Where possible, we consider environmental responsibility when choosing suppliers, partners and services, and favour organisations that are actively working to understand and reduce their own impact.
We also recognise that the work we do can influence wider business decisions. Where relevant, we encourage our clients and collaborators to consider environmental impact as part of the choices we make together.
Measuring and improving
We see environmental responsibility as an ongoing process rather than a one-off commitment.
We will continue to review how Fieldwork operates, identify opportunities to reduce our impact and improve our approach as the business develops.
This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains relevant to how we work and reflects current best practice.
